December 21, 2020
RCMS received its first batch of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for our frontline clinic staff. The first vaccine was administered today at 2:01 PM to one of our Urgent Care nurses.
Over the next few days, the vaccine will be given to our clinic staff. RCMS will also start giving vaccinations to the Coast Life Support District (CLSD) ambulance staff starting tomorrow.

More details will follow as the vaccine becomes available for the community at large. This is an important day for RCMS and the community.

My questions: When will vaccines be available for seniors?
And when will it be available for people with medical conditions, i e compromised immunity?
Will this information be published daily on your website?
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, details will be posted on the website as it becomes available. Currently, RCMS is vaccinating groups in the Phase 1a population, which includes front-line health care workers at RCMS and the first responders at CLSD. RCMS started vaccinating the Phase 1a group on December 21,
2020.

Phase 1b would be for essential workers (e.g., utility workers, police and fire personnel, grocery store clerks, transportation workers).

Phase 1c would cover adults with high-risk medical conditions and those over age of 65.

At this time, we don't have specific dates on when we will move to subsequent phases. RCMS will inform the community as additional information becomes available. We appreciate the community’s patience.

In an effort to help organize and plan how the vaccine will roll out to the community, RCMS has put together a survey for people who are interested in taking the vaccine. If you are interested, please take the survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KYGPTVS
