COVID Booster Shot Clinic Scheduled for November 15

11/11/2021

Redwood Coast Medical Service (RCSM) will host a COVID-19 booster shot clinic on Monday, November 15 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the South Coast Volunteer Fire Department at 39215 Church Street in Gualala.

Modern and Pfizer booster doses will be available at this event. Please note supplies are limited and will be given first come/first served.

Please bring your vaccination card with you.

For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:
  • 65 years and older
  • Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
  • Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
  • Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings or are essential workers

For individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago. There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.

Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccines for Ages 5 to 11 Years Old

11/4/2021

Picture
Earlier this week, the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommended that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine.

RCMS is committed to vaccinating children with safe and thoughtful planning. RCMS is waiting for direction from the Mendocino County Public Health Department and plans to provide vaccines to children ages 5 to 11 once we are authorized and have supplies on hand. These vaccines will be given at our main clinic in Gualala.

RCMS will update the community via our webpage (https://www.rcms-healthcare.org/news),  social media sites (Facebook and Instagram) and via local media. Please do not call our front desk for information on the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine. Our front desk staff is overwhelmed right now with calls. The updated information will always be on our webpage.

RCMS is also gathering information via this form to help us plan for vaccination clinics.
Please complete the online survey at this link:

Your family's privacy is of the utmost importance to us and the information you share with us will not be shared with any other organization, it is simply to help us better plan for upcoming vaccination events.

If you would prefer to use paper forms, they can be picked up and returned to the RCMS front desk.

We appreciate your patience as we prepare for the roll out of the pediatric vaccine as we continue to provide COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for adults.
