 Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized a second booster dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or the Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for older people and certain immunocompromised individuals.
There are still a few more things than need to happen before RCMS can deliver these second booster doses. The next step is that the CDC will issue an authorization and instructions. The final step after CDC approval is local (California Department of Public Health) approval which is usually coupled with Mendocino County Department of Public Health approval. Sometimes this process takes several days. RCMS will be offering these boosters as soon as we are cleared to do so at the local level. RCMS will update the community when we are able to deliver the second booster doses. Thank you for your patience.
