Free COVID-19 Testing Center in Ukiah

5/27/2020

Any Mendocino County Resident can get free COVID19 screening/testing in Ukiah.  They merely need to go online or call to make a scheduled appointment. It is performed in Carl Purdy Hall at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds in Ukiah, from 12:30pm – 7:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Turnaround time is “about” 72 hours. This means it might take slightly longer to get results. (In case patients need a test 72 hours prior to a procedure like a colonoscopy, this might be an option, but the 72 hours is not guaranteed).

Patients can make an appointment by going online at:  https://lhi.care/covidtesting or calling 888-634-1123. RCMS is advocating to get more asymptomatic screening opportunities closer to Gualala.   Until then, this is an option.

RCMS is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the Mendocino and Sonoma County Health Departments, we will be performing another COVID19 screening event.   Residents of both Sonoma County and Mendocino County are invited to attend.   We are hopeful that this will be the beginning of recurrent screening events for our counties. Please note that the screening is for asymptomatic people only. If anyone has symptoms, they should not come to the event. They should call the clinic at 707-884-4005 to make other arrangements.

When:  Sunday May 24, 2020 from 8:00 am until we run out of swabs
How Many Will Be  Screened: 300

Look Out for COVID-19 Scams

5/6/2020

Unfortunately, scammers are using the COVID-19 pandemic to try to steal your Medicare Number, personal information, and money. And they're using robocalls, social media posts, and emails to do it.
Remember, if anyone reaches out to get your Medicare Number or personal information in exchange for something, you can bet it's a scam.

Be on the lookout, so you can stop scams before they happen. Here are recent Coronavirus scams to watch for:
  • Robocalls offering you respiratory masks they'll never send
  • Social media posts fraudulently seeking donations for non-existent charities, or claiming to give you stimulus funds if you enter your bank account information
  • Fake testing kits, cures, "immunity" pills, and offers for protective equipment
Visit Medicare.gov/fraud for more information and tips on preventing Medicare scams and fraud.
