You need vaccines throughout your life
Adults need to keep their vaccinations up to date because immunity from childhood vaccines can wear off over time. You are also at risk for different diseases as an adult. Vaccination is one of the most convenient and safe preventive care measures available.

All adults need:
  • COVID-19 Vaccine
  • lnfluenza (flu) vaccine every year
  • Td or Tdap vaccine
You may need other vaccines based on your age, health conditions, job, lifestyle, or travel habits. Learn more about what other vaccines may be recommended for you and talk to your healthcare professional about which vaccines are right for you.

For children:
On-time vaccination throughout childhood is essential because it helps provide immunity before children are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. Vaccines are tested to ensure that they are safe and effective for children to receive at the recommended ages.

Well-child visits and recommended vaccinations are essential and help make sure children stay healthy. Children who are not protected by vaccines are more likely to get diseases like measles and whooping cough. These diseases are extremely contagious and can be very serious, especially for babies and young children. In recent years, there have been outbreaks of these diseases, especially in communities with low vaccination rates.

Well-child visits are essential for many reasons, including:
  • Tracking growth and developmental milestones
  • Discussing any concerns about your child’s health
  • Getting scheduled vaccinations to prevent illnesses like measles and whooping cough (pertussis) and other serious diseases
Vaccines are successful in prevention of many diseases including:
     Polio
     Rubella
     Measles
     Mumps
     Whooping cough (Pertussis)
     Tetanus
     Diphtheria

National Health Center Week

For 58 years, health centers have delivered affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary health care to millions of people, regardless of their ability to pay. At the heart of each health center are dedicated people: primary care providers, nurses, dentists, health educators, social workers, behavioral health staff, quality improvement, administrative, and patient support staff committed to ensuring patients have access to high-quality primary health care.
In 2022, more than 30.5 million people relied on HRSA-funded health centers for care, including:
  • 1 in 9 children
  • More than 24.2 million uninsured, Medicaid, and Medicare patients
  • More than 9.6 million rural residents
  • Nearly 1.4 million patients experiencing homelessness
  • Nearly 1 million agricultural workers
  • More than 952,000 patients served at school-based health center sites
  • More than 395,000 veterans
Of these patients, 90% were at or below 200% of the poverty line. RCMS is proud to be one of those Health Centers and privileged to serve our coastal community here on the Mendonoma coast.
