And the Survey Says...

7/29/2023

Picture
We send surveys to our patients to get their feedback on our service. The feedback helps us know what we are doing right and where we can get better.

The results of the survey are used by our performance improvement and quality improvement teams and are actively used to improve our delivery and provide you with the best possible service.

Here are some excerpts from our survey responses:

"As usual - everyone was wonderful."

"I very much appreciated the help and care I received. Care was attentive, caring, professional, and very knowledgeable. Thank you."

"I could have used a little more instructions on using crutches."

"Keep on keeping on! I feel fortunate to have you folks in my life!"

"Was treated very well in all departments."

Are you ready in case of fire?

7/28/2023

Visit Cal Fire
Prepare yourself and your family by following these steps from Cal Fire.

1. Get Ready
Being ready for wildfire starts with maintaining an adequate defensible space and by hardening your home by using fire resistant building materials.

2. Get Set
Create a plan with your family to evacuate your home should wildfire strike. Put together an emergency supply kit. Learn how to talk with your children about fire safety.

3. Be ready to go
Give your household the best chance of surviving a wildfire by being ready to go and evacuating early. Being ready to go also means knowing when to evacuate and what to do if you become trapped.

Visit Cal Fire for more information on evacuation checklists, signing up for local wildfire alerts, and more.

Beware of Ticks

7/14/2023

Picture
Did You Know?

California is home to four types of ticks, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • American dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis)
  • Brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus)
  • Rocky Mountain wood tick (Dermacentor andersoni)
  • Western blacklegged tick (Ixodes pacificus)

After You Come Indoors

Check your clothing for ticks. Ticks may be carried into the house on clothing. Any ticks that are found should be removed. Tumble dry clothes in a dryer on high heat for 10 minutes to kill ticks on dry clothing after you come indoors. If the clothes are damp, additional time may be needed. If the clothes require washing first, hot water is recommended. Cold and medium temperature water will not kill ticks.

Examine gear and pets. Ticks can ride into the home on clothing and pets, then attach to a person later, so carefully examine pets, coats, and daypacks.

Shower soon after being outdoors. Showering within two hours of coming indoors has been shown to reduce your risk of getting Lyme disease and may be effective in reducing the risk of other tickborne diseases. Showering may help wash off unattached ticks and it is a good opportunity to do a tick check.

Check your body for ticks after being outdoors. Conduct a full body check upon return from potentially tick-infested areas, including your own backyard. Use a hand-held or full-length mirror to view all parts of your body. Check these parts of your body and your child’s body for ticks:

  • Under the arms
  • In and around the ears
  • Inside belly button
  • Back of the knees
  • In and around the hair
  • Between the legs
  • Around the waist
