RCMS is deeply grateful for the generosity of our community and the dedication of our healthcare teams. As we close out the year, we share this message of appreciation for the support that helps sustain vital services and strengthen the health and well-being of our coastal communities.
Winter can be a challenging time to drive, but with a little preparation and caution, you can stay safe on the roads. Here are some tips for safe winter driving:
This month, RCMS proudly recognizes the team members celebrating work anniversaries in December. Their dedication, commitment, and care play an important role in supporting our patients and strengthening our organization.
We are grateful for their contributions and thank them for the time, talent, and compassion they bring to RCMS every day. Please join us in celebrating these milestones and wishing them continued success in the year ahead! RCMS clinics will observe adjusted hours during the winter holiday season. Please refer to the graphic below for location-specific hours and closures. We appreciate your understanding and wish you and your loved ones a safe and healthy holiday season.
At RCMS, we rely on your feedback to help us understand what we’re doing well and where we can continue to improve. Every patient survey gives us valuable insight, and we truly appreciate the time you take to share your experience with us.
Our Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement teams carefully review each response and use your input to guide enhancements in care, communication, and patient experience. Your feedback plays an important role in helping us provide the best possible service to our community. Below are a few recent comments from our patient surveys:

During power outages, portable generators can be extremely helpful—but they also pose serious safety risks if not used correctly. To keep yourself and your household safe, please follow these important guidelines:
Health Risks of Poor Generator Ventilation Improperly ventilated generators can produce deadly levels of carbon monoxide (CO)—an invisible, odorless gas that can cause:
To prevent CO poisoning:
Stay Safe During Outages With proper setup and ventilation, generators can be a safe and effective backup power source. This clinic will provide the standard-dose flu vaccine, which is appropriate for adults of all ages, including seniors. If you prefer the high-dose (“senior dose”) vaccine, you may schedule that separately through any commercial pharmacy offering it. The clinic is open to individuals ages 12 and older. No appointment is necessary. Our clinics will observe special hours during the Christmas holiday. Please see the graphic below for location-specific holiday schedules. Warm wishes for a joyful and restful holiday season.
In September, Kalev Golubjatnikov, Family Nurse Practitioner, celebrated his two-year anniversary at RCMS. Regarding his education, Kalev says he “just could not leave well enough alone.” He holds Master's degrees in Medical Informatics, Public Health, Business Administration, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Nursing. Kalev comes to RCMS after 30 years at Kaiser Permanente Northern California, where he served as a Quality Director, Risk Management and Patient Safety Director, and Associate Medical Group Administrator. He happily brings this wealth of expertise to RCMS. Currently, Kalev is focusing his Kaiser practice on patients with life-limiting serious illnesses. At RCMS, he works on Thursdays and Fridays, concentrating on patients with chronic conditions. Kalev was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. His parents, born in Estonia, came to the United States as displaced persons at the end of World War II. He is proud to be a first-generation American. Kalev’s two children are both in the medical field: his son, Matthew, is an Emergency Room physician in Santa Clara, and his daughter, Aili, is an Emergency Room nurse in Ventura. Kalev’s former wife, Ann—the mother of their children—also enjoyed a long career as a Nurse Practitioner. It seems to run in the family. Kalev and his partner, David, have come to love life on the coast. When they aren’t working, they enjoy swimming, hiking, caring for their home in Sea Ranch, and being grandpas to their two young granddaughters. Kalev and David moved to Gualala/Sea Ranch before Kalev joined RCMS, and he is extremely happy to have found a new home for both his life and his profession. We are certainly glad he made the journey west to San Francisco and then up north to join us. |
