PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE AT RCMS

While payment is expected at the time of service for uninsured patients, no patient will be denied services because they are unable to pay.

If a patient cannot make payment at the time of the visit, every effort will be made to arrange a payment schedule that is reasonable to both the patient and RCMS.

Patients who meet the requirements of the Federal Government’s Poverty Guidelines will be offered a sliding fee schedule.  Eligibility for the Sliding Fee Schedule will be reviewed on an annual basis.  In addition, RCMS will assist low-income patients in identifying and obtaining benefits from programs such as MediCal (web site www.medi-cal.ca.gov/), the Child Health & Disability Prevention Program, Women, Infant and Child Nutrition Program, Family Planning, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program and Healthy Families (web site www.healthyfamilies.ca.gov/).

For patients who are insured by Medicare (web site www.medicare.gov) or MediCal (web site www.medi-cal.ca.gov/), RCMS will bill these agencies for the patient.  RCMS will also bill the patient’s Medicare supplemental insurance if that insurance is in place.  As a Federally Qualified Health Center, the $100 annual Medicare deductible is waived for RCMS patients.

As a participating member in a number of *private insurance programs, RCMS will bill for patients who are enrolled in these programs.  For patients with other insurance, RCMS will bill that insurance as a courtesy.

Please bring your insurance card or a copy of your card to the clinic at the time of your appointment.

If you have changed insurance companies or your current insurance company has changed the address and telephone number of their billing office, please let the front office and billing staff know about the changes. Updating your office record with these changes is helpful when it comes to filing the best claim with your insurance company.

*--If you are getting incorrect billing statements, please contact our billing office staff so we can help correct your claim. If you have an HMO insurance plan and your primary care provider is out of the area, it is to your benefit to call your insurance plan or primary care provider and get authorization before you visit RCMS.
