Afsoon Foorohar, DO
RCMS Medical Director
Board Certified Family Medicine Physician

Picture
Dr. Afsoon Foorohar is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician who joined RCMS in January, 2019. She is trained in full spectrum outpatient care with a passion for Women's Health, Integrative and Functional Medicine, Pediatric and Adolescent Care, and Osteopathic Manual Medicine.

Dr. Afsoon is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences where she completed her training as an Osteopathic Physician. She was awarded the Pre-Doctorate Teaching Fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine and Osteopathic Manual Medicine. Through this program, she lectured and guided hands-on courses about neuro-musculoskeletal medicine at the medical school. The program also furthered her training in Osteopathic Manual Medicine alongside many skilled mentors.

After medical school, Dr. Afsoon completed her residency at the Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency, which was deemed a top-ten family medicine residency in 2015. She has since joined the staff and works with the residents as a teacher and mentor for Musculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr. Afsoon practices according to the osteopathic principles of medicine, which include the tenet that the body has an innate capacity for healing and homeostasis. She evaluates the whole person and utilizes treatments that blend mainstream and alternative approaches. She believes that her role as the physician is to remove obstacles to healing.
